Here is a sample email I wrote for a family member who wanted to have a discussion with his financial advisor to make sure the FA was doing a good job:
Hi,
I hope you're doing well. I'd love to set up some time over the next few weeks to discuss my accounts with you. Just to give you a heads up, I mainly want to understand the following questions:
1) What investments I am invested in? Why?
2) What are the fees - both at the investment level and the fees I am paying you guys
3) What is your outlook on the market? Any changes we need to make?
4) What have my accounts' performance been? Want to know year to date, 2020 and the last 3 or 5 years.
